The Friends of Ford's Pond is
501(c)(3) nonprofit working with the City of Sutherlin, Oregon, to develop and maintain a community park on the 202-acre Ford's Pond Property.

September Update, 2019

The City of Sutherlin, in partnership with the Friends of Ford's Pond, has been awarded two Oregon Parks and Recreation Department grants totaling $632,086 to improve visitor access at the 202-acre Ford's Pond Community Park.

In addition, the Friends are contributing $5,000 from a C. Giles Hunt grant and $11,000 raised through our fundraising.  Also, the Sutherlin Chamber of Commerce has committed $50,000 from their tourism lodging tax to the project.

Improvements will focus on ADA-accessible parking and walking paths.  Construction is scheduled to begin summer 2020.  The Friends of Ford's Pond will continue to assist the city with grant writing and other fundraising for a permanent restroom, playgrounds, and picnic pavilions.

Join our Monday Walkers!  Meet at the Church Rd parking area at 9 a.m. Rain or shine.  Dress for the weather and winter, muddy conditions.  Updates are posted on our Facebook page.

Our volunteers continue to care for the property by mowing the 1.7-mile perimeter path and the 1-mile hillside loop, in addition to trash pickup and removal. Please keep Ford’s Pond clean and carry out all trash and pick up after your pets. We provide pet waste bags for your use at all three entrances.
