Walking distances may be deceiving. During the rainy season, the unpaved paths can become flooded, slippery, and muddy. There is no shade around the pond and temperatures in the summer months can reach over 100°F. There is no potable water–carry drinking water during the summer months.
To avoid ticks and poison oak, stay on the paved/mowed paths. A portable restroom is available at the temporary parking area off of Hwy 138.
